60th Anniversary Dinner - January 22, 2005
A wonderful time was had by all who attended the IEEE London Section's 60th Anniversary Dinner at the Delta Armouries Hotel in Lonodn, Ont.
We were fortunate to have as our Guest Speaker the IEEE Canada President and Region 7 Director, Bill Kenedy. Also in attendance was IEEE Region 7 Webmaster, Bill Alden.
2004 is the 60th anniversary of the London Section. London is the 5th oldest Section in Canada, created as a local organization of the international Institute of Radio Engineers (IRE) on October 31, 1944. Then on January 1, 1962, the American Institute of Electrical Engineers (AIEE) Section was formed in London. These two Sections came together on January 1, 1963 when the AIEE and IRE merged to form the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
