IEEE Young Professionals Lecture on Cryptocurrencies
Cryptocurrencies: a scam ? an investment treasure or a career opportunity?
IEEE Young professionals London presented an interactive technical lecture by Dr. Alexsander Essex, a faculty member at Western.
The lecture focused on cryptocurrencies, especially Bitcoin, and their potential as investment tools and career enhancement options. The goal was to increase general awareness of the cyber security field in general and the possibilities Bitcoin opens for research and career development purposes.
A raffle followed where encrypted coins were used! The event was held in SEB2100 on March 11th at 6:00 PM, with about 70 young professionals attending!
Smart Grid in the IEEE Canadian Review
The London PES chapter Chair, Maike Luiken, provided an introduction to the IEEE Candian Review’s latest edition’s focus on Smart Grid. In her editorial role, she helped to organize the many articles in this edition.
